A strong basketball culture starts with qualified adults, clear boundaries, informed families, and expectations that apply to everyone.

Before the Court

Required preparation comes first.

At every Axxis activity, essential emergency and medical information is kept immediately available to designated program staff.

Every coach completes

Background screening renewed at least as often as the applicable sanctioning body requires
Ohio concussion training renewed within the required period
Annual Lindsay’s Law coach training
Current CPR, AED, and first-aid certification

Every selected athlete submits

Concussion information acknowledgment
Current sports physical or medical clearance
Emergency and medical information

Adult-to-Athlete Safeguards

Committed families receive access to the private team app, including the channel for serious concern reports.

Family Communication

Clear information before commitment. Organized updates after it.

Before placement, Axxis communicates through email. After a family accepts a roster position, the private team app becomes the central program channel, with text alerts reserved for urgent changes and scheduled parent updates used for ongoing information.

Families are expected to communicate promptly and honestly, participate in team support efforts, and maintain respectful sideline conduct.

Conduct Standard

Respect, safety, and accountability protect the team.

Each incident is reviewed individually based on the facts, seriousness, safety impact, prior behavior, and program responsibilities.

Ohio + Event Eligibility

School eligibility and tournament rules both matter.

Axxis operates around Ohio school basketball by holding fall evaluations before spring and summer competition. Event rosters follow the eligibility, age, and grade rules of each tournament or sanctioning body. Families must disclose school and team information needed to protect athlete eligibility.

Selected families and staff receive the complete concussion response, return-to-play, medical, emergency, and acknowledgment procedures in their required private documents.
